This Privacy Policy explains what information claimcapital (the "Service") collects and how it's used.
1. What we collect
When you claim a capital, we collect the startup/project name, one-line pitch, optional link, optional logo image, and icon you submit — this information is displayed publicly on the Service by design, for as long as your claim stands. We do not require an account or collect your real name or address to claim a capital.
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe at checkout. claimcapital never receives or stores your card number or other full payment details — Stripe shares back only what's needed to confirm your claim (such as whether payment succeeded).
Standard technical information (such as request logs) may be collected automatically by our hosting and database infrastructure as part of normal operation.
2. How we use it
We use this information to display your claim on the globe, process your payment, prevent and resolve claim conflicts (including issuing automatic refunds when a payment loses a price race), and to respond if you contact us.
3. Third-party processors
We use Stripe to process payments and Supabase to host our database and store uploaded logo images. These providers process data on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy policies and security practices.
4. Data retention
Claim information (name, pitch, link, logo) is retained for as long as your claim stands, and may persist afterward as part of the Service's historical record unless you request its removal.
5. Your rights
You can contact us at any time to request that content you submitted be removed or corrected.
6. Cookies and local storage
claimcapital itself does not set tracking cookies. Stripe's checkout page, hosted on Stripe's own domain, may use cookies as part of processing your payment securely.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
